Q: My insurance isn't on the list of preferred providers that you use. Will I be able to use it?
A: Many insurance companies will pay for Out-of-Network (OON) providers with pre-authorization or if you are referred by another physician. We will always bill your insurance company as a courtesy, or we can work with you on getting forms submitted to your provider to pay for our doctor's services. Any balance remaining after your insurance company pays is your responsibility. If you are concerned about what your OON benefits are, please contact your insurance company.
Q: Do you need my insurance card?
A: We will need to make a copy of your insurance card to put on file. Please have it with you when you come in for your appointment. We will also need to see a Photo ID; please make sure you bring that with you as well.
Q: How do I get referred to North Idaho Orthopedics and Sports Medicine?
A: Your primary care physician will refer you to North Idaho Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Some insurance companies need a referral/authorization in order to process and accept your claim. You can check with your insurance provider to find out more information.
Q: I had X-rays taken at the hospital, do I need to bring those with me when I come in?
A: It is crucial to have all diagnostic studies at the time of your appointment, or you may be rescheduled. If your films were done at Bonner General Hospital or Boundary Community Hospital, we have access to those images via the computer.
